Stroud International Textiles Festival – Pairings II

Stroud International Textiles Festival starts with the Pairings II show on the 28 April and goes on to the 27 May this year. Pairings II: Conversations and Collaborations is the second part to a show called Pairings that started in 2010 and toured across the country. Pairings began at Manchester Metropolitan University and was a scheme that paired artists working in different disciplines together, to see what kind of work they might produce across different materials and disciplines. The results were intriguing! This new exhibition in Stroud continues this work. Contemporary Art History’s material culture historian Jane Webb is working with textile artist Alice Kettle and furniture maker David Gates. Images of their finished work will follow…
